TL DR - Get the basic model cheap for basic text-based books, get a paperwhite for books with a lot of images and for water-proofing. I managed to get pick this up for only $60 and I would say that for me personally, this model is well worth getting at the $40-$60 range if you plan on reading text-only books on it but I myself might actually upgrade to a paperwhite if I manage to find one around $80 or less for manga consumption. If you have an eligible device (most newer Paperwhite, Voyage and Fire models) and in a supported Marketplace (US, UK & Ireland, Canada, India or Australia) you should automatically see the g logo in the navigation bar on your e-ink Kindle or find the Goodreads on Kindle application in your apps. Definitely worth your money if you read non-image focused books abundantly.
